One of my main concerns when I travel anywhere, thinking how to pack for my trip, is which handbag to take with me. This can be a day trip to London or a few days in a city abroad. For my recent trip to Amsterdam I bought myself (another) new handbag purposely for the trip. But when it arrived it was really too big. I did end up keeping it still, so will most likely show you it another time. But for this trip to Amsterdam, I really couldn't decide which handbag to take with me.
You know already that my handbag collection is rather extensive, so really I have many to choose from and it shouldn't be that difficult. But there are many things to take into consideration. Safety is obviously the number one priority - it needs to be absolutely picket-pocket proof. It needs to fit my dslr camera. I want the handbag to be fairly light as I will be doing lots of walking on my city break and I don't want to be weighed down. And lastly, of course it needs to look stylish.
I was lucky enough to receive the Halfpenny Large Leather Shoulder Bag * just before my trip and really it was the most perfect handbag size. It could fit my camera, although I ended up carrying my camera separately as I was taking so many photographs. It really was safe, it has a huge flap which fastens with a magnetic closure. As the bag fits snugly under my arm, it would be impossible for a picket-pocket to gain access. The handbag has so many pockets - a good pocket on the bag, a good size for fitting my phone. A large panel on the front underneath the flap, which I found perfect for my passport and flight tickets. The bag isn't huge inside but just enough space to fit my large wallet, coin purse, sunglasses, make-up and a few other bits.
You can see me wearing the bag from my recent Amsterdam posts here and here. And it is currently in the sale on the Radley website if you happen to fancy it for yourself.
