New Year, New Handbag

Photobucket
As if I need an excuse to buy myself another handbag. My latest offering, is this tweed effect lady-bag from D&G via Spartoo Shoes. Although my preconceptions of the D&G brand are not so favourable, I was nonetheless quite taken with the little key and padlock details and overall style. The bag comes in two sizes, this is the smaller of the two. The size is quite deceiving, it is very roomy with plenty of space for my dslr as well as my other daily essentials.

I treated myself to a new handbag for the new year too, although mine is no where near as gorgeous as yours! Beautiful!

As I said before, I enjoyed your blog when it was about what you bought and liked. But at the moment it reads like an endlss list of ads. I can understand why you'd want to accept the freebies but when there is nothing but sponsored posts it doesnt come across as your voice or your blog anymore.

Anonymous Girl - Thanks for replying, I'm always happy to hear readers' thoughts.

In my mind there are 2 types of sponsored posts - Posts written and paid for by a brand. And Posts featuring items provided by a brand, usually without payment.

In the first instance, I would agree that while these posts are not necessarily my opinion, that is not to say they would not be of interest to my readers. I have many different types of readers, so I am happy to run these on occasion.

In the second instance, I'm not sure what the difference is between me buying these products myself and blogging them, or them being offered to me by a company, but which I have chosen myself. I would buy them anyway, so why not accept them as gifts? I'm sure most people in my position would do the same. And the fact that they are gifted items does not affect my opinion of them. As many 'Sponsored Posts' that you see on here with featured products, there are just as many I am offered but which I turn down. I don't believe in a bad review, so I would rather turn down anything that is not of personal interest to me.

I think it is worth bearing in mind, that this blog takes up a lot of my time and energy. This is in addition to my normal full-time day job. If some form of payment or benefit comes my way, this only helps maintain the runing of this blog and allows me to continue to post. If companies did not provide me with clothes etc to use in my posts, unfortunately what would I blog about? I don't necessarily have the funds to finance this myself.

It doesn't look as though you have a blog yourself, so perhaps you don't fully appreciate the time and money that goes into maintaining one. But I hope this little discussuin helps explain my view on 'Sponsored Posts'. Of course I can't expect everyone to agree with my views. But at the end of the day, as much as my readers are very important to me, this is my own personal little corner of the internet filled with the things I love.

Again, thank you for your interest.
