The Royal Tenenbaum

Photobucket
I do love it when designers give a name to their designs. So in this case I was overjoyed to take up lovely Nina's offer to choose something from her Family Affairs range. I opted for the Tenenbaum Dress, even better that it shares the same name as one of my favourite Wes Anderson films, The Royal Tenenbaums. I really love the design, with it's high collar, flared midi skirt and nipped, belted waist. As autumnal as the print is, I'm really looking forward to wearing it next spring/summer as the fabric is so loose and lightweight. I chose to wear it with some new Curved Heel Platform Ankle Boots from Ted Baker, the first pair of shoes I have had from this brand. And although they are very high, they are incredibly striking. Finally, as the dress is sleeveless and it is rather chilly at the moment I finished the outfit with a glittery jacket that I bought at the #nextlockin. I love the structured design, it is so classic but is made of a very interesting fabric. Finished off with some vintage and Zoe & Morgan rings and the Daniel Wellington watch that has not left my wrist since I received it. (Don't forget you can still receive a 15% discount on the range of watches by entering pinkbow at checkout).

  5. What a lovely dress! I also love it when clothes have names. I don't quite see the connection to The Royal Tenenbaum's though. Margret wears a striped dress and that fur coat. Am I forgetting about someone?

  6. vanessa - no ;-) the only connection is that the dress shares the same name with the film, i don't think it has been named to represent the film in any way, it's just my connection :-)
