Yesterday, before meeting a friend for Saturday afternoon cocktails, we had a quick look around the markets which have arrived in Newcastle city centre. I think most cities have these markets now, this one is predominantly a food market. It's great to have so many stall-holders visit us from around the world, where we can sample delicious cheeses, breads, cakes, sweets, deli produce and so much more. Very bustling, with lots of Christmas atmosphere and set amongst fine architecture in the Monument area.

my local one would be manchester, i wish there was more variations of the food though and the prizes are pretty steep. maybe i'm being a scrooge. i'm looking forward to it though
It all looks delicious! My nearest one s a little on the tacky side, I wish it was more of a foodie place!
There is nothing quite like a good food market - all those delicious-looking sweets are making my mouth water!

Oh this looks like a great little Christmas/farmers market. One happened over the weekend in my local town centre but this looks much better!
oh wow, look at all the sweets! that must be so lovely to have christmassy winter markets pop up, it'd really get you in the christmas mood and you'd know it was coming up.
