Urban Outfitters - Newcastle upon Tyne

Photobucket
It is around a year now since the opening of Urban Outfitters in Newcastle upon Tyne (North East England). I was invited a couple of months ago to have a good look around, kindly guided by one of the store managers who pointed out the history and background to things I may not ordinarily have spotted on a normal shopping trip. Although a relatively big city, Newcastle upon Tyne is very much lacking in good 'quirky' shops in my opinion, so Urban Outfitters choosing Newcastle was quite a big coup for the city.

Although not all of the clothing is exactly to my taste, it does stock some of my favourite brands - tba, Le Mont St Michel, Kimchi Blue amongst many others. But it is mostly the homeware that always catches my eye in UO, they stock the most amazing, unusual pieces which are good for gifts too. I love this huge space which UO in Newcastle occupies and they have been so creative, using the artwork of many local artists - I respect hugely the fact that such a big brand would support our local community. I took so many photographs, it was difficult to choose my favourites, so here is a small selection...

  1. Ah, I do like a stroll round Urban Outfitters, though - just as you mentioned - the clothes are not all to my personal taste either, but it's a good place to pic up some ideas and trinkets :-) Have a lovely weekend xo
