The Best Meal of the Day

I make it no secret that I believe breakfast to be the very best meal of the day, especially at weekends when there is more time to linger. Here are some of my favourite breakfasts I have enjoyed over the last year or so...

Eggs Royale, eaten at Patisserie Valerie in Covent Garden, London

A fruit bar serving a selection of different melon at Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond, Scotland

A flat white coffee consumed in a street cafe in Paris

Fruit toast at home, bought from ever-faithful M&S

Pure, unadulterated, freshly-pressed orange juice

A selection of mini pastries bought at a local supermarket, presented on a vintage plate at home

A kilner jar filled with berries, granola, Greek yoghurt, flaked almonds, desiccated coconut and honey

A full English veggie breakfast

A huge waffle served with maple syrup at Hotel du Vin Hotel in Edinburgh

A hotel breakfast - fruit, home-made granola, fruit yoghurt, a glass of orange juice and a latte

Smoothies, served in mini milk bottles with retro pink and white striped straws

Fruit, nuts and seeds

A fruit bowl made at home, comprising an orange, piece of watermelon, strawberries and pomegranate seeds

A selection of fruit yoghurts in cute packaging

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast with a side serving of strawberries and cream

Mini jars of jam (I love anything mini!)

And finally, not forgetting the latte coffee

I absolutely love breakfast. I always feel sorry for those people who say they can't eat breakfast because they are missing out on so much! I'm also a big fan of breakfast for dinner (and lunch). Amazing post :)

i think if my breakfasts looked as good as yours do it would be my favourite meal of the day too! unfortunately mine are usually raisin toast and a rushed cup of tea of anything at all.. oops!

I definitely agree but only on days when I have time to relax and enjoy breakfast rather than rushing off to work.
