And so, following on from my London Snapshots was the second leg of the journey. We returned to Newcastle from London late on the Thursday evening only to revisit the station the next morning for another train journey. This time north-bound, up to the beautiful Scottish city of Edinburgh. The good weather continued and again, my camera did not make too much of an appearance. We stayed in a beautiful hotel (more on that later), ate and drank, wandering around the city in the sunshine before heading off to Edinburgh Zoo the following day. Unfortunately, we missed our 'Panda Appointment' but I still enjoyed seeing the good-looking animals in nice outfits, ie the flamingoes and zebra!

  1. edinburgh is a beautiful place! although it seems funny to me to think of zebras and flamingoes there, even in a zoo, i wonder what they do in winter!

  3. What did you think of Edinburgh Zoo? I've been a few times when I was younger and was planning on going at the end of May but seen quite a few bad reviews on Trip Advisor about half the enclosures being empty!

I'd love to go to Edinburgh for a short stay, it looks beautiful!

  5. Amy - I wasn't sure what to expect but I was hoping to see more, I thought it was bigger. And I was disappointed to miss our panda time. But I still enjoyed it.

  14. Inspiring shots! I love the character and history. I live in the west...as in the wild west...where nothing is really old except the dirt.
