Take 10 - H! by Henry Holland for Debenhams

Photobucket

Our latest Take 10 challenge was a choice of a lemon coloured tea-dress or sheer maxi skirt with polka mini underskirt from the H! by Henry Holland range at Debenhams. Not one of my favourite challenges, as this is not something I would usually wear at all. The concept is fine but for some reason it just doesn't seem to work for me, so in hindsight I probably should have chosen the dress instead.

When styling the skirt, I decided to look at the long, slim proportions of the skirt and chose a loose voluminous ruffle top from Zara and my much-loved and well-worn shoe / boots from House of Harlow, you can't beat platforms for a bit of extra height.

This month also sees the introduction of two new members to the group Olivia from What Olivia Did and Fritha from Fish Tank Fashion, who have styled their pieces amazingly. And see also the usual gang - Sherin (Hi-Fashion) Ellie (Pretty Much Penniless) ~ Vicki (Magpie Girl) ~ Sarah (We Shop) Harriet (Where's Harriet) ~ Lucy (Snippets of Shiny Thoughts) ~ Jen (A Little Bird)

  5. I think you did a great job styling the skirt Paula! It's tricky when you aren't so sure the item is for you, but it looks great on you and I would never have been able to tell you weren't sure.

  6. it is tricky to style skirts like that. a friend of mine bought a plain black one that had a short skirt underneath and a long sheer skirt over the top and i really liked it, but i was never committed enough to buy one for myself!
