Even as one who is not too interested in sport, it is difficult not to get caught up in the hype that is the Olympics 2012, especially as it is being hosted by my own country. So despite not living in London, I will be watching some of the events from the comfort of my own home. In fact, the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games itself is on my birthday (27th July), so I see a double celebration for sure!

When I attended the Next Spring/Summer 2012 Press Event a couple of months ago, I couldn't help but notice the huge homage to all things GB. Clothing, accessories, homeware - everything you can imagine buying from Next, had been stamped with the iconic Union Jack. It was then later at the Blogger Tea Party, we were informed that Next would be playing a very significant part in the Olympics as one of the official supporters. They would be launching a product to support the 550 Olympians and 350 Paralympians taking part for our country this year. It was a huge secret as to what the product would be but finally it arrived, a striking iconic memento of the London 2012 Games. Starting from only £5, this is something everyone can wear and as a scarf can be worn in so many different ways, I see this being a great way to support our country.

Next are inviting everyone to wear the scarf with pride and upload photos to share at www.next.co.uk/scarf. For me, I see my newest handbag being jazzed up with some colour come this summer's Olympic Events.

  2. Lovely photos,it's making me want to buy everything with a Union Jack on!Of course,I think all shops in the UK are going to be like they were at the time of the Royal Wedding-filled with cheap British things for stupid prices. However I'm going to buy some creepers with Union Jacks on the front-more my taste! x
