I love nothing more than to while away a few hours browsing second-hand goods, unearthing treasures from a by-gone era. I found this book on a trip to Scotland last year, I was quite taken by it's old, dusty pages and the sweet illustrations with it's even sweeter title of 'Old-Fashioned Flowers'. I can't see any publisher year printed on it but it did have a torn page with the year '1952' neatly written inside one of the pages. It made me wonder how these illustrated flowers were seen as old-fashioned even then, sixty years ago.

i really like it when you find hand writing in old books, we found some hand written stuff in a book from 1850s in hollie's house last year. so good.
