This month's challenge was different yet again. Usually we are contacted by a brand who wish to work with us and we then choose items we like and vote between the ten of us for the most popular. House of Fraser requested that they choose for each of us, the theme being Party Dresses for the Christmas season. I must admit to being so hesitant about this. Although I often have to style things as part of the Take10 challenge that I don't like or aren't to my taste, I at least get chance to see them beforehand to be able to come up with an idea of how I will style the piece.
My worries this time were completely unfounded and when I peeled back the packaging from my House of Fraser delivery, I could see exactly why this dress had been chosen for me. Even though I perhaps would not have chosen it for myself upon first glance, as soon as I tried it on I immediately felt transported back to a Grace Kelly like era, I could imagine myself wearing this in one of my favourite 1950's Technicolor films. I also knew that it must be styled simply, the nude background and black lace of the dress accentuated only by shades of cream and black, courtesy of Chanel.
Check out the rest of the girls' party dresses - Susie (Take-out in Couture) ~ Sherin (Hi-Fashion) ~ Vicki (Magpie Girl) ~ Sarah (We Shop) ~ Harriet (Where's Harriet) ~Sabine (Psynopsis) ~ Jen (A Little Bird) ~ MJ (Dreaming Spires). You will see one of our 10 missing this month, Ellie (Pretty Much Penniless) had one or two problems with her dress, which unfortunately didn't get sorted out before this post was due.
