Picture An Hour ~ 31st August 2011

A Picture An Hour. Or thereabouts.
A day of travel to Brighton.

7am - Pack my case

Photobucket

8am - Arrive at the train station and buy a Latte & Muffin from Costa Coffee, the September issue of UK Vogue and pick up that day's Metro newspaper

Photobucket

10am - On the train

Photobucket

11.40am - Wait for my train to Brighton

Photobucket

1pm - I arrive at my hotel... there are some seaside themed paintings on the walls

Photobucket

1.30pm - Straight out to Pret A Manger for a sandwich and cold drink

Photobucket

2pm - Start to walk around the colourful streets of Brighton and do a spot of shopping
Photobucket

Photobucket

3pm - Admired the pastel coloured camper van and scooter... and continued shopping. Brighton has some amazing little shops. I saw a beautiful 100% silk Christian Dior two-piece in a vintage shop and mentally spent a couple of thousand pounds on Isabel Marant pieces in a lovely boutique called Tribeca. If only!

Photobucket

4.30pm - Have a walk back along to my hotel

gifs make

5pm - Order a rosé spritzer and have a rest

Photobucket

6pm - Back outside for a walk down to the Pier which is only five minutes from the hotel

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

6.15pm - Buy some doughnuts to eat whilst looking out to sea from a deck chair

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

6.30pm - Take pictures on my iPhone and upload to Instagram

Photobucket

Photobucket

7pm - Back to the hotel for my dinner reservation

Photobucket

9pm - I look over my purchases from earlier in the day back at my hotel room. I bought a coral top and slim trousers from Zara, a patent & gold belt from M&S and a Lisbeth Dahl toiletry bag from a little boutique.

Photobucket

10am - Finally I retire for the night, quite exhausted from the travelling and walking but very much looking forward to the next day ahead.

Minty fresh vintage toothpaste packaging, I like. And I wish I could have taken home a dozen Pret bakewell tarts, but they wouldn't have survived the plane ride.

I went to Brighton for my birthday in June and have to be honest, wasn't that impressed. I know, strike me down in flames, because I've read all the rave reviews but I thought it was quite tired looking. Looks like you've had a great time though!

Brighton looks fantastic! The carnival reminds me of Cooney Island or something. Can I just say that I LOVE the posts about your little trips... if you ever put together a cute little travel guide filled with all these photos I would definitely buy it!

Meena - I will put the pentax pics up once I have finished the roll & had it developed. Think Instagram is just on iPhone at the moment.

Gawgus Things - I do agree. My expectations were quite low as I live near the coast & find most Coastal towns to be quite run down. But the Victorian Pier at Brighton is just amazing & I thought they had some fab independent shops.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments...pleased you like to accompany me on my little trips!
