By the Glass

Photobucket
It's always nicer to drink homemade with fresh ingredients, than shop-bought I think. Especially in the summer. But as lovely as it is to make up a huge batch, there is not always the need and 'by the glass' is all that is required. So my current favourite summer drink is this, made with either half a lemon or half a lime. Made all the more summery when drank from a glass jar with a paper straw. I put together a bottle of sugar syrup when I made my Melon-Rose-Lime summer drink recently. I store it one of those bottles you can buy from Ikea and it keeps in the fridge for a few weeks, so all of the hard work is already done. And then all you need to do, is squeeze lemon or lime juice over ice, add the sugar syrup and top up with water (still or sparkling). Finally, add a garnish of mint. And voila - delicious, quick to make and very refreshing!

  2. By the glass indeed! That's the ideal beverage for summer. Am sure this drink is smoother on the palatte when the sun is out. It's rainy here;-)

  4. This is the ultimate in summer blogging! And still as tempting during one of our heavy downpours. I should really give something like this a try, to be honest, because I rarely stray beyond various teas and bottled water! The images are even more delicious than I imagine the drink to be.

Also, do you mind if I ask about your Varina flats? I am a little confused by their sizing, and have heard that you have to size up. Any info on uk conversions would be greatly appreciated! x

  12. I love your photographs and suddenly I feel quite thirsty! I love the colorful straws. I'm sure I could find paper straws if I look hard enough but everything is plastic these days.

    Have a lovely weekend.
