Take 10 ~ ASOS

Photobucket
My second challenge for the Take10 Project is this camel cape from ASOS. I think we were all pretty excited to receive this. It's a beautiful piece that will work through many seasons. I see myself getting a lot of wear out of it with both dresses and trousers, I am a keen fan of swathes of volume so this cape gives me just that. And it has a certain Britishness to it in style, almost Burberry-esque, so I saw the traditional British Royal Mail Post Box as the perfect accompaniment. See below how the rest of the girls wore theirs - MJ ~ Sarah ~ Sabine ~ Sherin ~ Jazmine ~ Vicki ~ Adele ~ Jen ~ Ellie

  31. I haven't seen classic camel work well on a very fair, cool-toned woman -- until now! I love how you've done it, with the sharp black and rosy red makeup for contrast. And your use of the setting is magnificent. I love the "she's vanished?!" effect of the picture with just the hat and gloves.

  52. Yours and Jazmine's were two of my favourite looks - and what a great piece to style! I currently own about seven or eight capes. They are incredibly versatile pieces, and somehow add whimsicality to what on wears! I also love the whole idea here with the polaroid picture next to its subject. Oh & I'm always one for a fur hat!

  54. I love how you wore this cape. I like the cozy hat.

    You are so gorgeous, Paula!

  55. Thank you all so much for the encouraging comments!

Fillipa - I bought it in the uk in Feb & saw it in Barcelona in Dec but can no longer see it on the website :-(

Roz - thank you! I loved Jazmine's too, hers was my favourite. And of course I don't mind you asking how I got to take part, I was asked a few months ago when another member dropped out. Although it's a shame when there is a dropout, I think it also keeps it quite fresh! This was only my 2nd challenge but it's fun to come up with a concept, sometimes on pieces you wouldn't necessarily choose for yourself.
