My Barcelona trip was marketed as 'Barcelona Christmas Markets' but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the actual Christmas market. Despite it being set in front of the very beautiful cathedral, there was a lot of repetition between the stalls with a lot of them selling much the same (see below). I was overjoyed however, to unexpectedly find my favourite kind of market, the flea-market (see above). The stalls were beautifully set out and were a magpie's dream. The goods were of course expensive but the quality and variation were quite impressive.

What beautiful finds! I especially love all the vintage cameras, what a dream!
I live in Barcelona and see the markets all the time. It was refreshing to see your beautiful photos and be reminded of the precious details that exist in my city.
Wow! Amazing the Flea Market! A lot of beauty things!! Did you buy something?? I think I couldn't stop shopping...

That flea market looks like a treasure trove! I can only imagine the wonderful things you could find there! You are so lucky to travel so much! xx
Beautiful photos, a lot of people I know have said that about Christmas Markets and have been disappointed bu them, so I'm glad that you found this one instead - did you buy anything there? x
Love this place - it's the one by the strange roundabout, right? Every time I go, I fall in love with something large/breakable and curse myself
Happy new year Paula! xx
Beautiful pictures, I love going to markets, especially when abroad! The stuff is 'usually' so different from what you find at home! I went to Barcelona in Summer 2009 and am so desperate to go back again, it's such an amazing city =)

The flea market looks gorgeous! We have lots in Paris but they're so flipping expensive I have yet to buy anything there. Ah well...!
lovely things ;o)
I love having a good mooch around flea markets. Great photography yet again! x
How incredible! i want to delve into your photographs and go exploring!

Ooh, that flea market looks incredible! I never got a chance to visit any when I was in Barcelona. I do have the same problem with most Christmas markets though (overly commercialised and repetitive). It's what I miss most about Germany, as few other countries seem to have a good selection.
Hope you have a very happy new year :)
Ooooh, wonderful photos!

The flea market looks stunning! Christmas markets I often find a bit disappointing but anything selling old and vintage brick-a-brack is perfect for me!
The flea market looks like a treasure trove- did you manage to purchase anything exciting?
Such great photos, I love all of the treasures from the flea market.
Just came across your blog, it is beautiful!
What visually rich flea market finds. You, like Making Magique, need to publish a coffee table book of your photos someday! Too bad the flea market was expensive; I was hoping you'd find a suitcase full of treasures to bring home.
Such a shame the Christmas market was disappointing but glad you found something better to look at. I love browsing flea markets too.
wow, great snaps! I'm going to Barcelona in February, i cannot wait. It looks fabulous x
Lovely blog and graphics!!

Hola Paula,
I am glad you liked Barcelona - next time you're around let me know and I'll give you some vintage shopping tips.
Happy new year, my dear:)
so many wonderful things! That flea market looks like a great one, want to fill my house with treasures like that.
gorgeous photos as always. I adore the vintage market in the square in the gothic quarter ( i wonder if that is where you took these photos) and have fallen in love with many treasures there...often way too expensive- a beautiful illustrated set of playing cards, old vogue covers and keys!!katie.xxx

Ah, I adore ancient glass and prett decanters. Would so loved to have been there - prancing around at that market. Have a sweet weekend. And I am smitten with your painterly pictures above.
just exquisite.
Wow, it's really interesting to see what goes on in winter, I've only ever been in summer. Lovely market, I hope you found something nice as a keepsake. x Happy New year too!
I don't think I could ever go to Barcelona because I would max out the weight I can bring home in a suitcase. I love all those lil items from the flea markets, especially the old cameras!! Beautiful!! =)
I love to see these pictures from Barcelona! I sort of live there part time, but not as much as I'd like, and love seeing it on other blogs. That market is definitely cute. : )
