The best thing about being in a foreign country, is those little places you find, quite by accident and often down a little back street. This bar was one such place, situated in the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona, it was dimly lit, a little bit shabby and very cosy with lots of character. Perfect for a late afternoon cocktail. Just a great pity I don't remember the name to share with you.

Our full first day in Barcelona was spent doing the tourist must-haves. High up in the mountains, looking down on to the harbour...I wish we'd had time to ride in one of the cable cars. Park Güell, the amazing Gaudi designed park, again I wish we'd had more time to visit Gaudi's house. The amazing construction of La Sagrada Família, which my fixed lens didn't quite manage to capture the whole of. Strolling down La Rambla and exploring the Gothic Quarter.

The best thing about Christmas for me, is returning to my childhood home to spend the festive period with my family. Inspired by mother's Christmas decorations this year, I wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Thank you so much for dropping by and leaving lovely comments throughout the year and for the friendships that have developed and are still developing. I cherish it all!

Take 10 ~ Wildfox

Photobucket

The exciting news that I mentioned in my last post is my new role as part of the Take 10 challenge. I was so excited to be asked a couple of months ago to take over from Nic (although I think she has one challenge left). I have followed the Take 10 girls with keen interest since the group started, I think it's a fantastic idea for Ten Girls to wear the same piece of clothing and each style it in their own individual way. The group has seen one or two changes since it's beginning but I think that this keeps the concept fresh, despite it being a shame to have lost Nic, Shini, Leia and Saskia.

Typically though for me, my first challenge landed right in the middle of a personal crisis, so it meant styling and photographing this Wildfox tee shirt very quickly, after a long day at work and without the usual thought that I would put into it. But at the end of the day, this is often how clothes are worn. Sometimes we just have to throw our clothes on and hope that we look presentable as a result.

The tee shirt is not an item I would usually buy. I have to say, I liked the 'Love Potion' logo, despite not being a fan of logos. And the soft quality of the fabric was very much as a vintage tee shirt would be, lovingly worn in. I rarely dress casual but I think a tee shirt is a classic item that can be styled either way. See below for how the rest of the girls have chosen to wear theirs...

Editing

Photobucket
Hi everyone! I'm back from my trip to Barcelona and now have the mammoth task of editing all of the photographs I took. It's such a beautiful city with lots of good food, good architecture and much better weather than the sub zero temperatures we are still experiencing in the UK. So hopefully, shortly after Christmas, I will have my adventures up and running here on the blog. Also, there is a very special project I am able to share with you in a couple of days too, so I am excited to see what you think of it!
