Morning Routine ~ Second Breakfast

Photobucket
Morning is my favourite part of the day (although granted I do occasionally miss it if the night before has been a little heavy). I especially love mornings on a weekend when it is possible to take as much time as I need to ease myself into the day ahead without the rush of having to go to work.

This was my second breakfast last Sunday - undoubtedly the best meal there is. I had risen early to visit a new car boot sale (which I will not be returning to again) and then to compensate, a trip to my regular flea-market (always a success).

On the way back home, I called at the supermarket for some treats... a lazy Sunday should be celebrated afterall. So as well as some sweet pastries, good coffee and orange juice, I browsed through some old editions of Vogue magazine.

  2. Looks amazing - the flipping through Paris and British Vogues is my thing when I'm at my house in France over a mug of tea!

My usual morning is fall out of bed and make tea and raspberry jam toast to scoff while I dress, do my makeup, check my blog feed and finish any late essays!

Everything looks so painterly - I adore the pretty china. So nice to recline with vogue magazines and enjoy the weekend morning meal;-)

  5. I wish my morning routine was that pretty and fun! On weekdays I roll out of bed, stumble around getting dressed and stuff, scarf down some breakfast before I catch the bus to school. Weekends are barely more fun, I get up, make coffee, and drink that while making breakfast, then start on my homework.

  6. Mornings are my favorite part of the day as well! especially nice because my family are late sleepers/late risers, so the only quiet time I get to myself is in the morning :)

  8. Looks very peaceful :). I'm usually still asleep sunday mornings, so instead of a breakfast I take the time to have a nice brunch!

  9. Oh wow, that looks lovely! It seems that you are living the life I want to be living, but due to several unfortunate circumstances, I can't make it a reality. It all exists in my head, though. That teacup is simply divine, you really do have the best taste I have ever experienced before.

    Happy Sunday, dear.
    Much Love Always,

  26. That sounds like a really lovely morning.. I personally like nothing better than having freshly ground coffe while reading The Guardian, or Vogue. Perfect way to start the day!
I wish I had the willpower to wake up much earlier on weekends, as you always feel like you've achieved more if you get up early.

  32. I love the contrast of those rich, mouthwatering morning rolls, bright crisp orange juice, and bracing coffee against the pale minty delicacy of the teacup. You've inspired me to really sit *down* with my September Paris Vogue and one of my rpetty teacups the next time I can get both of the children to take an afternoon nap at the same time!

  35. It's funny, I have the exact same vintage champagne glasses as you. I think I need to drink OJ out of them so they get more use - they are getting dusty. x
