I have long been an admirer of the style of Pearl Lowe. From first seeing her interior skills in an Elle Deco feature many years ago, she works the quirky vintage vibe I love very well.
Somehow I managed to miss the last range she designed for British high-street budget store, Peacocks. Her celebrity fashion collaborations don't seem to have had quite the splash of say the Kate Moss for Top Shop range. But this for me is very appealing, I disliked the hype around the Moss range so much that I never bought from the collection.
So I had high hopes walking for the fist time into Peacocks. Hoping that this range would live up to my expectations, more a concern over quality than design. But I needn't have worried, I ended up buying two of the tea dresses and the quality to me was perfectly acceptable for the cost of each piece. When I tried them on, I could immediately see the style of both Pearl and her model daughter Daisy in their design, which to me is what a designer collaboration is all about.
The cream lace dress I purchased is very similar to the lace dresses Pearl is most famous for, but at a fraction of the cost. And the style of the dresses I chose suit my body shape - as well as complimenting my new shade of Chanel nail enamel! Overall a successful collection in my opinion.
