A Day in York

Photobucket
Yesterday, I visited the beautiful city of York. Only an hour train journey from where I live, we walked around the quaint cobbled streets, admired the contents within the unique boutiques and ate some delicious food.

After glorious weather last weekend, in true British style it poured with rain all day. As a result I wasn't able to take as many photographs as I would have liked. We frantically sought shelter rather than being able to take time to walk comfortably around the streets, taking in the sights. But I still had a wonderful time enjoying a city I had not visited for a few years, here are some moments from my day...

I completely agree with Marthe, you make me want to go to York. You take such amazing photos, the type that end up on weheartit and spread all around the world.

I can't tell you how much I love York. The Mr and I grew up just outside the city and it's always been a huge part of our lives. I hope we'll get married there when we eventually get round to it!

You've snapped some of my favourite places too. I also love ambling down the Shambles, walking on the walls and visiting the Salvation Army shop on Gillygate. x

Also, re: your comment on my accent, I'm not actually American! Although I did go to an American (international) school for 14 years, and all my teachers were American, so that has probably influenced the way I speak :)

Boo to the rain! But at least you had fun in York (which sounds so lovely!!)
I've always been wondering. How exactly do get the kind of hazy, dream-like quality to your photographs? Is it something on photoshop, etc or the way you set up the mode on your camera?
