Heritage

A few years ago, I decided to gather some family photographs and compile a photograph album. Here are some shots from some of the pages. Despite being an only child, I have quite a large family with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins who also hold many other photographs. So unfortunately, I don't have quite as many as I would like.

I love spending some spare time browsing through the pages, at the fashions of a different era, seeing my family in another lifetime. I feel lucky to have this little vintage collection of black and white photographs and it seems most fitting to post this today on Mother's Day - Happy Mother's Day Mam!

  4. Happy mother's day! I'm about to send my mom an e-card. Technically, our mother's day isn't until may, but bc i'm in london right now, I'm really starting to miss my mom.

Your album is adorable and such a great idea!

  5. oh such a beautiful album! i really dislike the fact that most photos i have exist in digital form and as soon as i graduate and can concentrate fully on it, i plan to make sure i get every one printed and stuck down in a lovely album, just as you've done!

and yes! with regards to I Heart Norwegian Wood, i think of Kingdom of Style instantly too! but some of the pieces are just amazing, i won't mind trying to style them as well, even if i fail! haha.

  16. How lovely. My grandmother has some fantastic photo albums and I'm going to see to it that one day they don't get lost and packed away for ever. There are few things I enjoy more than sitting down with them.

  18. Oh wow, how magical. I so wish I had access to more family photographs than I do. I try to make up for the lack by photographing like crazy whenever there are family events.

  31. Oh how funny you should post this, as this last week I've been scanning hundreds of old family photos, and have been admiring all the past fashions (okay and occasionally laughing at the past fashions...some were a little crazy, but charming to look back on)! Anyway, your scrapbook looks lovely! :) And thanks for your sweet comment! ♥

  34. for some crazy reason i have always hated collecting photos. they are so messy and they take up space, so i don't really have many. and now i am older and wiser (in theory!), and i see the error of my ways. photos are such great flashbacks to other times, places, and people. now when i see other family members and friends, i can't wait to look at their photo albums!
