I wanted to thank lovely lovely Erin from Living and Loving in L.A., for the award that she gave me a little while ago. No answered questions to go along with the tag I'm afraid but I am oh so grateful that she thought of me.
Also to the equally lovely Katrina of Pugly Feet, as well as having an adorable photostream on Flickr, her blog is always full of interesting and inspiring posts from around the web. She featured me as her Blogger of the Week last week, I am majorly flattered that she would think of me.
So thank you both Erin and Katrina! xoxo

I am so excited to read today in Vogue that the latest H&M collaboration is to be a Sonia Rykiel lingerie and knitwear collection. Sonia epitomises French chic and is one of my wish-list designers if I could only either afford her clothes or if they were to be stocked in a store near to me - maybe then I could pick up on a lucky sale buy.
The lingerie range is due autumn/winter 2009-2010 and the knitwear collection for spring/summer 2010 is due February. The knitwear and accessories for women and girls are to be available in 1500 H&M stores nationwide.
"It is a hallmark of Sonia Rykiel to think of all women because fashion is about a certain spirit more than a question of means," Nathalie Rykiel, president and artistic director the family-owned business said. "This collaboration fits perfectly with our philosophy. The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection is the ideal way to offer the essence of Rykiel to a great number of women around the world, and a beautiful way to close the year. The knitwear collection is perfect for welcoming a colourful new season."
This certainly makes the likelihood of acquiring one of her pieces more possible, if only they will be stocked in my local H&M. I am not holding out too much hope as the Comme range was not stocked anywhere in the North East of England. Maybe it will be worth travelling... I need to see what the range looks like before deciding.
In the meantime, I also spotted this Sonia Rykiel snow globe - I love these, they are so whimsical and child-like - being a designer version makes them all the more special. The little figurine is even clothed in autumn/winter 2008-2009 knitwear. Retailing for £94, the Sonia Rykiel Boule de Noel snow globe will be available for the perfect Christmas gift (020 74935355 for information).

When Deanne from Dream Sequins launched this project, I was excited to take part in something that links bloggers from different parts of the world. This is the first postcard I have received from the project. It is from allthingsnyc and I have to say the design is one I would have chosen myself. My other most favourite city to Paris is New York, I can't wait to visit there again soon, this is a great momento from a fabulous city.
It was great to discover a new blog and one from New York City will always keep me interested, I will certainly be returning to Lynn's blog again. And if you haven't already found Dream Sequins, I suggest you get over there straight away. If you are a Chanel lover like I, she is offering a fabulous giveaway...

So finally the wait is over, for the next six months at least. And of course the latest edition of Lula does not disappoint but then that is a given with this magazine. A tribute to all that is Karen Elson - her style, her friends, her red hair and anything else that could possibly be related.
I just love these words, 'She was born to be my unicorn'
Interview with Karen Elson's old friend, YSL Creative Director, Stefano Pilati
A penchant for silent film stars - I imagine Rhiannon to love this piece
The friends of Karen Elson
After watching The September Issue at the weekend, I was overjoyed to see the legend that is Grace Coddington, she must be the prototype Lula girl
Fantastic fashion - I adore this shade of green; how amazing are the polka tights with wedge heels
Interview with Rachel Korine - I seriously must buy this dress from Top Shop
After discovering the magazine in my local Borders this evening, I rushed home to photograph and post some of the pages. I haven't even had the chance to have an in-depth look yet. This is a magazine that needs to be savoured, perfect for a cosy night in, cup of Ladureé tea in hand, listening to the rain outside - much like tonight!
*Edit: the dress is from Closet Case Vintage in Nashville and not from Top Shop as the magazine states. Boo! I guess I will not be buying this dress afterall!

My first giveaway win. I tend not to comment on giveaway posts but I had already 'favourited' these ear-rings on Flickr before learning that they were to be up for grabs on Laura's blog, See Hear Say. The ear-rings are by Serena Bianco and made using the old tradition of tatting which the designer learned from her grandmother. Being the pink lover I am, I adore the shades and intricate detailing of the design and the sheer size make them a fantastic statement piece. Thank you Laura!

Although I do not want to become an apologetic blogger, every post a sorry for the lack of posting, at the same time I have been a little neglectful of late. So, I thought I would share with you some of my last few days, spending my time away from the computer...
Eating fish & chips at the seaside... a trip to the coast on what was probably one of our last days of British summer
Cinema outings to see 500 Days of Summer and Broken Embraces with September Issue to look forward to on Saturday - a new relationship means lots of dates - I'm not really complaining!
Some new buys... flowers for my living room
Another new hat - this one from Best Vintage in Newcastle
A dress from H&M - I like the forest print on this but I debated for a while before buying, its' distinctive print will be a major faux-pas if someone else wears the dress at the same time
One can never have too many stripes in one's wardrobe - these are both over-sized, a t-shirt and a dress
And I finally got my old faithful See by Chloe trench coat shortened to knee-length, I have already had so much more wear out of it
So a little insight into where my time has been lately, nothing too exciting - just living life!

Today I wanted to share with you Supermarket Sarah, a new concept in vintage shopping, built upon the simple concept of buying 'clickable' items on a wall. The homepage is set as a living room wall, designed and updated by Sarah with items she has hand-picked or commissioned.
Sarah decided to leave behind the corporate world. Living around the corner from London's Portobello Market where she held a stall, she turned her home into shop. She welcomes visitors with tea and cakes and stories of Brit elite Damon Albarn and Lily Allen which are recounted on her blog. The site is bursting with vintage, customized and 'unexpected curios', as well as up and coming designers.
I like the idea of someone else doing the sourcing for those unexpected items it can take hours to find at the flea-markets and thrift shops. They are all displayed in a simple and eye-catching manner, styled in a way that makes my magpie eye glint with excitement.

Like lovely Montmartre that I visited recently, I too am all about contradictions. No sooner am I posting about my excitement of the warm and cosy autumnal season that was upon us last week here in the UK, I am now posting about my most recent Ebay purchase, this striped summer H&M dress. Yes, I am unlikely to get any wear out of it this year but I couldn't resist a 99p bargain that I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of for many summers ahead.

Today's outfit was all about the details. I bought this dress a year or so ago from a US seller on Ebay and rarely wear it as it is difficult to find the right occasion. Ultra-feminine, I decided to toughen it up with a black & gold rope belt, black opaque tights and my ever faithful Ferragamo bow pumps that also provide a hint of gold. Perhaps not exactly a work outfit but I like the black and cream combination - and since when I have ever dressed in appropriate office attire, I think my work colleagues are used to me by now!
