Dress Details

Ebay vintage dress ❖ H&M black & gold rope belt

Today's outfit was all about the details. I bought this dress a year or so ago from a US seller on Ebay and rarely wear it as it is difficult to find the right occasion. Ultra-feminine, I decided to toughen it up with a black & gold rope belt, black opaque tights and my ever faithful Ferragamo bow pumps that also provide a hint of gold. Perhaps not exactly a work outfit but I like the black and cream combination - and since when I have ever dressed in appropriate office attire, I think my work colleagues are used to me by now!

That's a beautiful looking dress - what era is it from, do you know? I has Edwardian hints to it. I'm very much loving the Edwardian look myself and bought a vintage dress (from the 70s) that looks very period and will post pictures up soon. Good for you to wear what you like to work - I admire your style so much.

Thank you again for the award tag - I'm thrilled! I put up a post today about it (finally - sorry!) and tagged my bloggers.

Hope you're having a good week

Polly x

p.s any sightings on Lula mag yet? I have been popping in to Borders now and again but nothing has turned up

Gorgeous dress... I love the detailing! And what a great move pairing that with the belt. I think these days (unless you're working in a bank or law firm) dress codes are lenient anyway... I prefer people to dress what they feel like, rather than wear the same trouser suit to work.
