Around The World

Many of you will already be aware of Dapper Kid's Around The World Project and for those who aren't, this is one blogger's idea to start a travelling journal, for bloggers around the globe to fill a couple of pages how they see fit. I was the first blogger on the list, kicking off the project in the UK.

My idea stemmed from a recent post I did on one of my favourite films, Amelie. I decided to do a mini photography project based on snippets of my life in an Amelie styled format...

Le fabuleux destin de... PinkBow
On July 27th 1973, at 4.20am and 32 seconds, a bluebottle fly capable of 14,670 wing beats a minute landed on Grey's Monument, Newcastle upon Tyne. At the same moment, on a restaurant terrace, the wind magically made two glasses dance unseen on a tablecloth. Meanwhile, in a 5th floor flat, returning from his best friend's funeral, Eugene Colbert erased his name from his address book. At the same moment, a sperm with one X chromosome, belonging to Mr Bow, made a dash for an egg in his wife Mrs Bow. Nine months later, Pink Bow was born.

A little girl with a passion for fashion ◆ A daydreamer

And a bookworm ◆ With a career in newspapers

Which involves a lot of local travelling ◆ But results in being able to buy her own home

She hates vegetables ◆ Likes the country

And loves to know the time... all of the time ◆ PinkBow

July 16th, 2009. It is exactly 11am. In the market, at the vegetable counter, the vegetables are rotting. Meanwhile on a bench in Tynemouth, Robert Green learns there are more links in his brain than atoms in the universe. Meanwhile, on Holy Island, the monks are practising their chanting. The temperature is 24C, humidity 70%, atmospheric pressure 990 millibars.

And so, time for the journal to move on to it's next destination - Little LJ of There And Back Again. A great project, I'm sure you'll agree. I hope you enjoyed reading my entry as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
