Also, from my visit to Alnwick Gardens on Monday, I discovered a room dedicated to a Knitting Club. Around half a dozen older ladies, not unlike the Women's Institute, each joined together to knit every one of the items in the room. I didn't manage to take pictures of everything but there was a washing line with knitted underwear, an old fashioned shopping trolley in bright pink and my favourite the lamp above, perched at a jaunty angle. There was so much skill and dedication to these items as well as a whole load of creativity and when we spoke to a couple of them, they were so proud of their work - and so they should be, both my friend and I left the display area inspired to pick up a pair of knitting needles!
